How to Stay Motivated for Pilates Classes in the Colder, Darker Months

Do you struggle to make it to Pilates classes once the colder, darker months roll around? You're not alone! 🙋 As the summer sun fades and the nights draw in, leaving the warmth of your cozy sofa to head out for a class can feel more challenging than ever.

But don’t worry! Here are 5 tips to help you stay motivated and make it to your Pilates sessions.

1 Book in Advance and Commit to It

The first step to getting to class is making a solid plan. Book your classes in advance and get them in the diary ahead of time. A great tip is to set aside a few minutes on Sunday evening to schedule your classes for the upcoming week. When you commit ahead of time, you're much more likely to show up—even when that sofa is calling your name!

2 Consider Daytime Classes

Not a fan of evening sessions when it's dark and chilly outside? Why not join us during the day instead? We offer daytime classes on Fridays (and Mondays soon to come!), along with other sessions sprinkled throughout the week. If you have flexible hours, work shifts, or even just an hour free during the day, our equipment group classes could be perfect for you. A midday stretch might be just what you need to break up your routine.

3 Focus on the Post-Class Feeling

Picture how incredible you’ll feel after class: relaxed, recharged, and ready to take on the week. That 60-minute session could be the difference between feeling pain-free, full of energy, and positive—or feeling stiff and sluggish. Remember, you only need to get yourself to class, and we’ll take care of the rest! When have you ever regretted going to a class?

4 Take That First Step Outside

If you’ve been working from home, it’s especially tough to leave the house after a long day at your desk. But here's a tip—just take the first step outside your front door. Once you’re out in the fresh air, you’ll forget what you were feeling sluggish about in no time. Before you know it, you’ll be at class, feeling groovy and glad you made the effort!

5 Join Us Straight from Work

Make it easier on yourself by heading straight to class after work. We have evening sessions on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday starting right after working hours: 5pm, 5:30pm, and 6pm. It’s the perfect way to transition from work mode to relaxation mode. And after class, you can head home feeling refreshed and ready for a cozy evening in.
