This course is extensive and rigorous, ensuring that as a Pilates Teacher you will feel confident that you can teach a broad range of clients with safety, skill and precision.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will graduate as a Pilates Foundation Teacher, a true mark of excellence amongst Pilates professionals in the UK and across the world.

COURSE DIRECTOR
Vanessa is an advocate for movement. She has been studying movement since childhood: ballet, contemporary dance, Laban movement analysis, choreography, Pilates and Feldenkrais. A graduate of the Laban Centre in London, Vanessa formerly performed and choreographed professionally.As a Pilates Teacher & Feldenkrais Practicitioner, has worked with countless clients over the last 20 years, pioneering the Pilates landscape in Glasgow. Vanessa has been providing Pilates Teacher Training and Mentorship since 2014 and is passionate about nurturing curious students to become the teachers they want to be.

COURSE COORDINATOR
Michelle facilitates movement & creativity to spark joy in others. She discovered Pilates following a hip injury. It's transformative power, lead her to become a Comprehensive Pilates Foundation trained teacher.Michelle brings her background in theatre to build confidence & movement-led thinking in her teacher teaching approach. As Founder of several successful small businesses, she works closely with trainees to think entrepreneurially when developing their teaching career.
As the founder of Yellow Pilates, she has nurtured a vibrant community that encourages clients to find JOY in movement.

CLINICAL COURSE LEAD
Annette helps people regain confidence in their bodies, especially when long-term conditions have left people feeling that exercise and movement is not possible for them.She qualified from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2002 with a BSc(Hons) degree in Osteopathic Medicine and has been in private practice since then.
She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Osteopathic Sports Care, along with Pilates Teaching qualifications from the Pilates Foundation and APPI, and specialist training in EDS and hypermobility disorders.
Bursary Programme
We believe in making quality Pilates Matwork education accessible to more people, particularly those who could otherwise not afford it.
Yellow Pilates is proud to offer one fully subsidised place on our 2025/26 Matwork Teacher Training Program through our dedicated bursary scheme.
What the Bursary Covers:
Full course fee (£3,950)
Course materials provided during the training
Note: Bursary recipients are still responsible for additional costs including Exam Fees, Pilates Foundation Membership, Trainee Insurance, First Aid Certification, Required Books, and Pilates Classes. Approx £500.

No previous teaching experience is required, but applicants need to have experience of at least 25 hours of Pilates classes (not home practice) during the 6 months prior to course commencement. If applicants have no background in movement, 50 hours are required.

Yes, participants will be continually assessed through ongoing essays, informal question and answer sessions, written tests, teaching practice, and direct feedback. There is also a final practical and written exam.

Prior to starting the course, trainees will be required to have current first aid certification.

In addition to the 200 course hours, you'll need to complete:
50 hours of Pilates Classes
50 hours of Observing and Assisting Matwork*
200 hours of home study/practical revision
45 hours for case studies
*Observing and Assisting Hours can be completed at Yellow Pilates in Glasgow or with local Pilates studios and/or teachers. We recommend observing a variety of different teachers, ideally Pilates Foundation trained where possible.

Yes, you can train at the studio on our full comprehensive training course - which is a 16-month course for students who are matwork trained teachers. The course covers the Cadillac, Reformer, Chair, Barrels to allow you to become a full-comprehensive teacher. Please email hello@yellowpilates.com to find out more.
